the team: three

When you can no longer play.

This is where the analogy breaks down. Because there’ll come a point when we feel like we can’t do it any more.

We can’t keep walking because it’s just gotten too hard.

The thing is, if God’s done with your life, then He’ll call you home. And if you’re still around, you’re not done yet.

There is no such thing as “retirement” in the regular sense. Sure you can stop working and you might not be on the field anymore, but that doesn’t mean you can’t mentor other players. It doesn’t mean you can’t still invest back into the game, and work on other ways of helping the team.
