Proposition:
1. God has a specific calling on every person’s life.
2. Some people are called to be leaders.
–> 3. So if you’re not called to be a leader, then part of your calling is to be a follower?

I heard the phrase “called to follow” yesterday and it sounded interesting to me. I don’t claim to know the Biblical basis for this, or if there is one – so most of this is just me expanding on a simple thought.
But the message that I heard this phrase in was called “Protecting Your Pastor” (Clayton King on the Elevation Church Podcast).
He said that Leaders are targets, and the attacks will often come in the form of rumours, criticisms or jealousy.
And maybe that’s the way that I feel and act towards my leadership a lot of the time. It is very easy for me to criticise.

I guess the point I am trying to get to with this post is that it is not enough for me to NOT spread rumours, or NOT criticise or NOT be jealous.
Because then that would just be the absence of doing bad.
But what if I am CALLED to follow. What if I actually have to take action, and step into the position of humility, serving under those who are called to lead?
And in some areas of my life, if I’m called to lead, how should I best model leadership? Probably by following Jesus – as opposed to NOT following the world.
