It’s not the deepest of places to get inspiration for a blog post, but I remember a chapter of the manga Naruto, where one of the characters challenges our protagonist with the idea that (paraphrased):

Maybe it’s time that we become the ones that leave behind, instead of the ones that inherit.

Meaning that they’ve grown up enough to start to be depended on, and that now the motivations and the dreams and vision that they inherited from the people who went before them, are now the same motivations, dreams and vision that they need to leave behind for the next generation.

Once we get a hold of God’s vision for our lives, it no longer becomes about us.

It’s about helping others to get theirs.
